The motor's power in kW or HP must match the rating the pump end was designed for, as shown on the pump's nameplate or data sheet. A motor rated below the pump end's requirement will be overloaded, so choose the rating the pump end calls for rather than a smaller or much larger one.

Only if the frame size, shaft and coupling standard match. Many 4-inch and 6-inch borehole motors follow common mounting standards, but check the pump end's specification before combining different brands.

A control panel or starter with overload, phase-loss and dry-run protection can shut the motor down before it is damaged. Three-phase motors in particular need phase-failure protection.

The charge depends on the pump specifications and the site. Have the pump model, borehole depth, cable run length and power supply details ready when you arrange installation.
